Guitarist/Composer James Emery launched a new ensemble formation on Oct. 10, 2020: James Emery’s Neo Trio. To celebrate the occasion, Emery premiered 9 new works for small ensemble at a private residence in Warwick, NY. Joining Emery for this concert were Rob DeBellis (flute, clarinet, alto and tenor saxes), and Tony Marino (bass). Emery had been commissioned to write the new works with an individual artist’s grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) in the spring of 2020.
